Ocean Shores Convention Center: Events & What to Know

Ocean Shores may be best known for its wide-open beach, but some of the biggest reasons to visit happen indoors.

The Ocean Shores Convention Center hosts festivals, markets, community gatherings, concerts, and special events throughout the year. If you’re planning a trip around one of them, or simply wondering what’s happening while you’re in town, it’s worth checking the calendar before you arrive.

Here’s what to know about the Ocean Shores Convention Center, including two of its popular fall events: the Celtic Music Festival and Winter Fanta-Sea Craft Fair.

Where is the Ocean Shores Convention Center?

The Ocean Shores Convention Center is located at 120 W Chance a La Mer NW in the heart of Ocean Shores. It’s only a short 3-minute drive up the road from the Polynesian.

Its central location makes it convenient to combine an event with the rest of an Ocean Shores getaway. Restaurants, shops, and other attractions are nearby, and the beach is never far away.

The Convention Center isn’t exclusively used for tourism events. Its calendar includes everything from large public festivals and markets to meetings and private gatherings, so what’s happening there can look completely different from one weekend to the next.

If you’re considering a trip, start with the event calendar.

Some Convention Center events attract thousands of people, which can make a normally quiet fall or winter weekend considerably busier. Other events are private and aren’t open to visitors, so seeing something listed on the calendar doesn’t necessarily mean you can attend.

The calendar is also useful when choosing your travel dates. You may discover an event worth planning an entire trip around, or realize there’s something happening during a trip you’ve already booked.

Two events worth knowing about in the fall season are the Celtic Music Festival in October and Winter Fanta-Sea Craft Fair over Thanksgiving weekend.

Celtic Music Festival

If bagpipes, fiddles, Celtic dancing, and live music sound like a good reason for a trip to the coast, October is your month.

Hosted by Galway Bay, the popular Irish pub in town, the annual Celtic Music Festival returns to Ocean Shores in October. The official calendar describes it as the West Coast’s largest Celtic feis (pronounced “fesh”) and estimates that the event brings around 2,000 people to town. Over the course of six days, 20+ bands will perform across multiple stages, offering a wide variety of Celtic music.

It’s one of the larger fall events in Ocean Shores, turning a trip to the Washington Coast into something a little different from the usual beach weekend.

And there’s nothing stopping you from doing both. Spend part of the day at the festival and the rest walking the beach.

Winter Fanta-Sea Craft Fair

Thanksgiving weekend brings another major event to the Ocean Shores Convention Center: the Winter Fanta-Sea Craft Fair.

This annual holiday craft fair focuses entirely on handmade items and is open to the public Friday through Sunday following Thanksgiving. The 2026 event is expected to draw more than 3,000 attendees.

If you’d rather shop small than fight the Black Friday crowds, this is a much better way to spend the weekend.

Because everything at Winter Fanta-Sea is handmade, it’s also a good opportunity to find Christmas gifts that are a little more interesting than something pulled off a department-store shelf.

Add a walk on the beach, and you’ve got a pretty solid post-Thanksgiving tradition.

What else happens at the Ocean Shores Convention Center?

The calendar changes throughout the year, and the variety is part of what makes it worth checking regularly.

For example, the October and November 2026 schedules include Urban Unglued, a Halloween Kids Party, TOP Tastes of Washington State, Turkey Bingo, and other public and private events in addition to the Celtic Music Festival and Winter Fanta-Sea.

Events aren’t limited to fall, either. Ocean Shores hosts festivals and gatherings throughout the year, so checking the calendar before every trip can uncover something you didn’t know was happening.

Just be sure to confirm event details before making plans. Dates, hours, admission requirements, and schedules can change.

Make a weekend out of it

One of the nice things about attending an event in Ocean Shores is that the event doesn’t have to take up the whole trip.

Head to the Convention Center for a few hours, then make time for the beach, local restaurants, shopping, or whatever else brought you to the coast. During fall and winter events, coming back to a warm indoor pool or hot tub doesn’t hurt, either.
